Terms of use
Updated September 21, 2026
The short version: use it however you like, as long as you break no laws and bother nobody. Below is the same in detail, including what can get an account blocked, how we protect your anonymity, and what we are not responsible for.
What this document is
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between the User and the administration of the hi:voca service (the Administration). By using the service you accept them in full.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please stop using the service.
How we handle data is described in detail in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
What hi:voca is
hi:voca is a free technical tool for voice and video calls with screen sharing. A room holds up to 25 participants at once and calls have no time limit.
Age requirements
The service is intended for users aged 14 and over. Anyone under 14 may use it only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
The Administration collects no documents and does not verify age. If it emerges that the service is being used by a child under 14 without parental consent, that access may be blocked.
Anonymity and personal data
hi:voca is anonymous by design. We deliberately do not collect personal data: we ask for no name, surname, phone number, email address, or location.
Technical data needed to establish a connection is processed automatically and is not used to identify you. The IP address is not stored in its original form. What is stored is session information only — the name of the browser or app and the platform: you see it yourself in settings, in the list of active sessions, so that you can tell your own sign-in from someone else's.
Your account, Key, and notes
Access to the service is by a unique Key. The Administration does not collect it, does not store it, and has no technical means to recover it. Keeping the Key safe is your own responsibility.
Notes are stored encrypted. The encryption key is derived from your Key, which the Administration does not hold, so it cannot read your notes.
A temporary account works the same as a regular one but lives for a day: after that it and everything in it are deleted. You can make it permanent at any time in settings, and the Key stays the same.
Calls are recorded and stored nowhere, but they do pass through the server: a call between several people does not work otherwise.
Limits on what you may store
Notes and Rooms are your own space and you use them at your own risk. Do not keep in Notes, or share in Rooms, other people's personal data — passports, phone numbers, addresses — without their lawful consent.
What is not allowed
While using hi:voca, the following is prohibited:
- Anything that breaks the law of the Russian Federation.
- Harassing, threatening, insulting, or stalking other participants.
- Deliberately impersonating another person or the hi:voca Administration.
- Sharing other people's personal data, confidential information, or spam.
- Attempting to disrupt the service, circumvent limits, or collect data by automated means.
Consequences of a violation
If these Terms are broken, the Administration may restrict access to a room or block the Key (the account) without prior notice.
The service is free and provided as is, so no compensation applies to a block: we take on no obligations whose breach would call for it.
Responsibility for content
The Administration provides a technical platform only and does not monitor, moderate, or review what is shown in rooms or written in notes.
Responsibility for the content of calls, for screen sharing, and for any infringement of third-party rights rests entirely with the participants and the owner of the room in question.
Inactive rooms
A room where nobody has talked for one hundred and eighty days is deleted along with its settings, roles, and member list. This is housekeeping, not a penalty: there is no reason to keep what stopped being used.
To keep a room, it is enough to drop into it now and then.
Rights to content and to the service
What you say, show, and write stays yours. The Administration acquires no rights to it and uses it for nothing.
The hi:voca name, the design of the service, and its code belong to the Administration. You are free to use the service; passing it off as your own is a different matter.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided as is. The Administration does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors, or continued availability, and may change or discontinue the service at any time.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Administration is not liable for any direct or indirect losses, lost profits, or loss of data arising from the use of hi:voca or from being unable to use it.
If you decide to leave
You can delete the account yourself: settings, the Privacy section, at the very bottom. This deletes rooms you own, your notes, your friends list, and the points you have earned. Rooms where you are only a member stay — you simply leave them.
A deleted account cannot be restored: the Administration holds no email address and keeps no backup for this.
Changes to these terms
These Terms may be changed by the Administration. A new version takes effect when it is published. We will announce significant changes in the app.
These Terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. Disputes are resolved under the rules of jurisdiction established by law.
