Frequent questions

People cannot hear me in a voice room

Open Settings → Microphone and pick the right device: the list may still hold your previous headset. The level meter is there too — if it stays still while you speak, the problem is the device, not the room.

Screen sharing does not work

In the browser: make sure you granted screen access in the pop-up. In the desktop app: choose a source in the picker.

The connection is unstable / drops often

Check your internet connection. hi:voca uses WebRTC, which needs a steady link.

How do I delete my account?

Check these first

Three things cover most of what people write in about. If none of them helps, write to us and we will work it out.

Another program is holding the microphone

Close whatever else is using it — a second messenger, a game with voice chat, a screen recorder — and rejoin the room.

The browser already answered for you

A browser asks about the microphone and the screen once and remembers the answer. If you hit “Block” back then, it will not ask again: open the icon to the left of the address bar and allow it by hand.

The sound goes to the wrong device

Settings → Speakers. The device you picked may have been disconnected while the app was open — switch back to the one you need.
